If you'd like to help fund a Haiti Works project:
Our main mission is to create revenue for a primary school in Port-au-Prince. We buy handmade products from artisans in Haiti through different vendors and sell these beautiful products in the US. All profits are returned to the school. Its a win-win: the artists get paid for their work, the vendors help create jobs to market and sell the products, and the school benefits with school supplies, teacher salaries, etc.
Through our partnership with howFar.org, we accept donations for various projects with ministry partners in Port au Prince. A few of these projects are:
School and Church in Cite Soleil
School Supplies
Medical Needs
Feeding Programs
Your donations will be used for teacher salaries (because the government is not paying their teachers right now), school supplies and a feeding program for the students. This is an ongoing need so recurring monthly donations will be appreciated!!
Each summer we begin to collect money to purchase school supplies for students going back to school in Haiti. These supplies include: uniforms, shoes, bookbags, notebooks, pencils, etc.
Healthcare in Haiti is almost non-existent. However, there are times when emergencies happen or people get sick. We love to be open-handed when these situations arise so we gladly accept donations for medical needs.
Several times a year (mainly around Christmas and Easter) we raise money to provide food bags for people in the neighborhoods we work in. These food bags consist of 10 lbs of rice, 5 lbs of beans, a can of fish, a quart of oil and 10 packs of spaghetti noodles. Depending on the size of the family, this food bag can feed them for several days or weeks!
